Dimensional Engineer

Location: 275 Rex Blvd., Auburn Hills, MI. 48326


Position Duties:

Coordinate all Dimensional Engineering development and design of vehicles between three continents. Create 3DCS analyst virtual models for the entire interior trim in order to simulate assembly process and predict the variation issues. Create dimensional measurement templates using QDM software. Establish CMM and datum coordination inside Catia product design. Define preliminary dimensional control plan for parts including definition of measurement points. Perform tolerance stack studies. Develop first concept components, provide fix points and vibration welding areas as well as molding feasibility studies. Review datum strategies and GD&T requirements with suppliers and deliver complete GD&T release for production for interior trim, tunnel console and closure trim. Work with ASME Y14.9-2009 standard, 3DCS dimensional variation simulation, QDM software, PPAP, FMEA, MS Office, and Measurement Systems for APQP in completion of the above duties.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have U.S. or foreign equivalent bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering plus four (4) years of experience in the job offered or a substantially similar position performing all of the above listed duties.
